Contact Us LECDEN-KENYA began in 2005 as the Kiambiu Self-Help
Community Programme in the slums of Kiambiu, Nairobi,
Kenya. The program was started by community members and
has now grown to include 3 feeding centers and the care
of over 500 children orphaned by HIV/AIDS. Because the
services of LECDEN-KENYA have reached beyond the
boundaries of the Kiambiu, and Kibera slums and outside
Nairobi, it was decided that the name should be changed
to reflect its larger scope of services within Kenya,
hence the new name, LECDEN-KENYA.
