SUPPORT DELIVERY STATEMENT:
LECDEN-KENYA
generally working for the welfare of the lower class and poor community living in urban slum settlements and remote rural areas where most people can hardly get but merely spend less than 1 US $ per day hence as per their limit of survival. Among these groups are people living with HIV/AIDS (PLWHAs), OVCs, women and children.

Despite the reality that prevention and behaviour change activities must not be compromised, it is a fact that as a committed organization that works for the benefit of the common man, a lot of emphasis must be laid in terms of care, support and mitigation impact on poverty reduction. LECDEN-KENYA support usually goes towards empowering the poor local community to ease their burden in caring for the orphans and widows, most of which were left at tender age due to HIV/AIDS related deaths of their parents and spouses respectively. Schooling, employment, human right and gender equality options for all is our major motto.

Due to HIV/AIDS/STI (pandemic) and poverty, many women have been left widows with several orphans to feed for themselves with no or meager resources to survive on with no support from immediate family members. Widows are left helpless and orphans drop out of school. Older women (grandparents) are left with many orphans (grand children) to feed single handed. This has affected the moral, social, academic, economical and physical well being of the survivors causing bitter suffering. Depression, helplessness and poverty are the end result of this situation which is growing at an alarming rate.
PLAN ON GLOBAL COLLABORATION:
To get fund from the donor to enable LECDEN-KENYA structure to implement relevant development activities towards the support of the target community, to create an enabling environment that is conducive for positive role modeling for the local community, to nurture their health wise and rights skills, to educate them on gender equality campaigns and its consequences at the expense of community development agenda and to lobby for policy and legislative adhering human right and development changes.

LECDEN believes in involving the beneficiaries in coming up with the best implementation approach. It facilitates the implementation process while the beneficiaries are the main participants and the direct benefit players through wide interaction and cohesiveness.

The program activities allow the extension of a key outcome, increased understanding of rights of other local community, and generally of the jobless youths at large.

RATIONALE

LECDEN-KENYA support efforts towards advocacy to strengthen its framework of representative in real findings and promote greater public participation in and oversight of state relevant agency, by strengthening the system of checks and balances in Kenya. Its program project also provides indigenous poor peoples with information on the various local supports to the integrators thus may access them to, the processes of acquiring and using the support, and how to participate in the processes. This likewise equips them with the tools to participate in the financial decision-making processes that affect their lives.

At the same time, it generate information about the needs of their families thus helping them to identify and articulate where their budgetary needs lie, taking up their claims locally and feeding into the decision making processes in their respective localities. This improved knowledge hence facilitate their capacity to hold their collaborators to realize and thus encourage commitment in decision-making and develop strategies for their advocacy to ensure that their needs are taken into account.

The constraint here is therefore lack of technical and financial capacity of our targets and other stakeholders, which hinders their engagement in the decision-making and monitoring processes and their capacity to advocate effectively on development issues. It is noteworthy that a number of relevant activities being run by the majority from within the poorer regions have been contributing a lot of beneficial impact in Kenya. However, they have not specifically focused on the marginalized minorities and indigenous peoples, especially with regards to improving their technical and financial capacity to be able to apply more effectively participate in development program structures at their grass root level of operation through the hardship earnings.

MICRO SURVEY OUTLINE
The collection and analysis of empirical data from the perspective of local communities is crucial to provide information to inform the target partners and the leaders of their needs and to take action to address them. Practical information on how to engage with the development processes at the local level is vital to facilitate informed participation of communities.

The program macro case study of LECDEN-KENYA provides practical guidance for marginalized indigenous communities to engage in participatory decision-making and monitoring processes, using case studies providing key data currently unavailable elsewhere to illustrate the situation of a range of people from the local community.

ACCOUNTING CAPACITY & CONCLUSION POINT:

The existence of accounting capacity system of LECDEN-KENYA in the program is widely based in banking institution, of which the structure has been receiving and accessing the financial expenditures for the agreed budget and concerned reasons.

Reason for the urgent need for Global collaboration:

LECDEN-KENYA need partnership urgently to help it implement develop wise projects thereby having modern and conducive facilities to help its targets. With a lot of mutual understanding between its structure and outside partner donor organizations still set to continue, it remain with a great hope to receiving fruitful relationship towards its wide range of beneficial progress.                Learn More on LECDEN-KENYA Background
